[Interspecies similarity of the trajectory of reactive leukocytosis]
Abstract:
Reactive leukocytosis was studied in 60 patients after appendectomy by daily test for 8 days. Reactive leukocytosis trajectory in these patients was compared to the analogous trajectory in 87 dogs with experimentally induced inflammation. The similarity of reactive leukocytosis trajectory in humans and animals has been established and a uniform period of leukocyte blood count changes equal to 48 h has been determined.
