  • Interoceptive sensitivity inversely correlated with positive affect and extraversion.
  • A positive correlation was found between interoceptive sensitivity and delayed verbal memory performance.
  • Hierarchical regression indicated time estimation, positive affect, extraversion, and verbal memory predicted interoceptive sensitivity, explaining 38% of the variance.

Conclusions:

  • In older adults, heightened interoceptive sensitivity may support cognitive functions like memory.
  • Conversely, increased interoceptive sensitivity might be associated with diminished positive emotional experiences.
