Approach:

  • Systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) comparing parathyroidectomy to observation or medical therapy.
  • Searched major databases (CENTRAL, MEDLINE, etc.) up to November 2021, including RCTs meeting selection criteria.
  • Assessed primary outcomes (cure, morbidity, adverse events) and secondary outcomes (mortality, quality of life) using GRADE methodology.
