Background:

Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD) is a recognized mental disorder.
The COVID-19 pandemic increased PGD rates, highlighting a need for effective treatments.
PGD therapy (PGDT) is an evidence-based treatment, but clinician training is limited.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate user satisfaction with a new web-based PGDT tutorial.
To assess the tutorial's effectiveness in increasing clinicians' knowledge of PGDT principles.
To pilot test the evaluation of PGDT-related clinical skills.

Main Methods:

A pre- and poststudy design was used to evaluate learning.
Participants completed tests on PGD/PGDT concepts and clinical implementation.
An 11-module web-based tutorial with multimedia scenarios was provided.

Main Results:

Clinician assessment scores improved significantly post-tutorial (52.7% to 66.7%).
Clinical implementation skills also showed significant improvement (2.6/4 to 3.1/4).
Trainees reported high satisfaction and perceived usefulness for professional development.

Conclusions:

The web-based PGDT tutorial is a useful tool for training clinicians.
Multimedia patient scenarios enhance the effectiveness of PGDT training.
This training approach shows promise for disseminating evidence-based treatments.
