No Strong Association between the Apolipoprotein E E4 Allele and Glaucoma: A Multicohort Study.

The apolipoprotein E (APOE) E4 allele showed a slight inverse association with glaucoma in one large UK cohort, but this finding was not replicated in other groups. This suggests potential underdiagnosis of glaucoma in APOE E4 carriers, not a true protective effect.
