  • A survey was distributed to plastic surgery trainees via ICOPLAST and ASPS Resident Council from November 2021 to January 2022.
  • Data collected included demographics, training characteristics, wellness resources, and validated scales for burnout (Maslach Burnout Inventory) and resilience (Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale).
  • Statistical analysis, including multivariate logistic regression, was used to identify predictors of burnout.

  • Out of 175 respondents, 119 trainees from 24 countries completed the survey; 45% reported experiencing burnout.

  • Work hours, resilience, and access to wellness programs are key factors influencing burnout.
  • Interventions aimed at enhancing resilience and providing wellness support may effectively mitigate burnout in surgical trainees.
