1Intensive Care Unit - Anesthesiology (MR, SW, MC, NE), Rothschild Foundation Hospital; Neurosurgery Department (DC, PB), Rothschild Foundation Hospital.
Refractory convexity spontaneous subacute subdural hematoma (CSSSH) cases were treated with epidural saline patches. This intervention improved patient consciousness and CT scans, even without clear signs of spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH).
Area of Science:
- Neurosurgery
- Neurology
Background:
- Convexity spontaneous subacute subdural hematoma (CSSSH) often recurs after surgical drainage.
- Spontaneous intracranial hypotension (SIH) is a potential cause, typically treated with epidural blood patches.

Since epidural anesthetics can be infused through an epidural catheter, all types of drugs, including short-acting ones, can be administered. Chloroprocaine and lidocaine are examples of short and long-duration anesthetics, respectively. Bupivacaine...
