Intranasal packing is a common post-operative procedure following septoplasty and rhinoseptoplasty.

Purpose of the Study:

To systematically review and compare various types of nasal packing used in septoplasty and rhinoseptoplasty.
To evaluate patient comfort and surgical outcomes associated with different nasal packing techniques.

Main Methods:

A comprehensive literature search was conducted across major databases (PubMed, MEDLINE, Web of Science, Google Scholar).
Keywords included "nasal packing," "septoplasty," "rhinoseptoplasty," "nasal splints," and "intranasal packing."

Main Results:

Alternative methods, such as trans-septal suturing and intranasal splints, demonstrate improved outcomes.
These alternatives appear to offer better patient comfort compared to traditional intranasal packing.

Conclusions:

Trans-septal suturing and intranasal splints are preferable alternatives to conventional intranasal packing.
These newer methods enhance patient experience and surgical results after septoplasty and rhinoseptoplasty.
