Axial Compressive Loading Attenuates Early Osteoarthritis by Reducing Subchondral Bone Remodeling

Early mechanical loading and alendronate (ALN) treatments protect against osteoarthritis (OA) by suppressing bone remodeling. Late loading, however, accelerates cartilage degeneration in advanced OA.
