  • Analyzed 84,082 comments, revealing six key topics: general genetic testing, ancestry, relationships, health/traits, ethics, and video reactions.
  • Sentiment analysis showed predominantly positive emotions, including anticipation, joy, surprise, and trust.
  • Overall user attitude towards DTC genetic testing videos was neutral to positive.

Conclusions:

  • Examining YouTube comments effectively reveals user attitudes and topics related to DTC genetic testing.
  • Findings indicate significant user interest in DTC genetic testing and associated social media content.
  • Service providers and regulators should consider evolving user interests and desires in this dynamic market.
