Diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL) is a common cancer in Malaysia. This review summarizes 52 studies on DLBCL prevalence, subtypes, and outcomes, highlighting prognostic markers and treatment responses.
Area of Science:
- Hematology
- Oncology
- Genetics
Background:
- Lymphomas, particularly Diffuse Large B-cell Lymphoma (DLBCL), are significant health concerns globally and in Malaysia.
- DLBCL is a heterogeneous malignancy with varying clinical, biological, and treatment response characteristics.
- Understanding the genetic landscape, including MYC, BCL2, and BCL6 rearrangements, is crucial for identifying high-risk DLBCL subsets.
Conclusions:
- This review consolidates essential aspects of DLBCL in Malaysia, providing a valuable resource for clinicians and researchers.
- Identifying high-risk DLBCL subsets through genetic profiling is critical for improving patient outcomes.
- Further research and clinical trials are warranted to optimize DLBCL management strategies in Malaysia.
