Deceptive patterns of uremic pulmonary edema

Three uremic patients had chest x-ray changes due to pulmonary edema, but mimicking lobar pneumonia and fungal or metastatic disease. It is important to be aware of these deceptive radiographic patterns. Otherwise, a potentially disastrous delay in fluid removal, the mainstay of therapy, may result.
