Summary

Metabolic syndrome and type-2 diabetes mellitus impair dental implant bone healing, particularly in the mandible. Healthy and metabolic syndrome subjects showed better bone-to-implant contact and bone area fraction occupancy compared to type-2 diabetes mellitus subjects.
