- Plasma samples were analyzed for inflammatory markers: soluble urokinase plasminogen activator receptor, c-reactive protein, tumor necrosis factor (TNF), soluble TNF receptor 1, and interleukin-6 (IL-6).
- Linear mixed-effects models and linear regression models were used to analyze changes in inflammatory markers and CRF.

- Tumor necrosis factor (TNF) and interleukin-6 (IL-6) levels increased in both HIIT and AVG groups during the intervention.
- No significant reduction was observed in other assessed inflammatory markers.

- A 12-week HIIT or AVG program did not reduce inflammatory markers in individuals with schizophrenia.

- Larger studies with longer and more frequent exercise sessions are needed to clarify the relationship between exercise and inflammation in schizophrenia.
