[Pneumococcal septicemia and pseudo-peritoneal syndrome in the adult]

A new case of spontaneous pneumococcal peritonitis is described. The case is compared with the results of the literature. The absolute need to exclude a surgical aetiology before treating with adequate antibiotics is stressed.
