Planned Out-of-Hospital Birth as a Risk Factor for Nonreceipt of Hepatitis B Immunization

Planned out-of-hospital births are strongly linked to newborns not receiving the hepatitis B vaccine (HBV) at birth. Targeted policies and education are needed as these birth locations become more common.

- Policies and education are warranted to improve HBV birth dose coverage.
