Summary

This study found that sex differences in academic rank and h-indices among oculoplastic surgeons are largely explained by shorter career durations for women. American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS) membership is associated with higher scholarly output for both sexes.
