Conclusions:
- Sex differences in testosterone's association with kidney function were observed: positive in men, negative in women.
- Serum cystatin C-based eGFR may be a more sensitive marker than creatinine-based eGFR for these associations.
- Further research is warranted to confirm these findings and explore underlying mechanisms.
