Summary

Reduced glial fibrillary acidic protein (GFAP)+ cells in the prefrontal cortex (PFC) are linked to depression. This study shows PFC GFAP+ cell depletion causes anhedonia, while enhancing their activity reverses stress-induced anhedonia.
