  • Inflammatory markers may indicate underlying disease.

Observation:

  • A previously healthy man in his late 20s experienced insidious back pain.
  • His symptoms persisted for 4 weeks with elevated inflammatory markers.

Findings:

  • Despite extensive investigations, including imaging and bone biopsies, the diagnosis was unexpected.
  • Anaplastic large cell lymphoma was diagnosed.

Implications:
