Rare retro-patellar multiple osteochondromas in patellar tendon: A case report

Osteochondromas (OCs) are bone tumors developing near joints. This case highlights a rare retro-patellar osteochondroma in a young male, confirmed via imaging and biopsy.

- Osteochondromas (OCs) are common benign bone tumors originating from the periosteum during enchondral ossification.

- A 19-year-old male presented with a palpable mass and swelling in his left knee.
- Clinical suspicion for a bone tumor was raised due to the presenting symptoms.
- Diagnostic imaging, including X-rays, was performed to evaluate the knee abnormality.
Findings:
- Radiographic examination revealed an exostosis consistent with osteochondroma.
- Histopathological examination of the resected mass confirmed the diagnosis of retro-patellar osteochondroma.
- The lesion's location posterior to the patella was a key diagnostic feature.
