Abstract:
We report one case of traumatic dislocation of the tibialis posterior tendon at the ankle level as a lesion of an exceptional rarity which was successfully treated by performing a flap of inverted periosteum. The pathogenetic mechanisms involved, on the basis of the results of anatomic and electromyographic studies performed, appear to be a combination of exertion of the tibialis posterior and hypoplasia of the sulcus.
