[Surgical therapy in recurrences and the therapeutic sequelae]

Treatment complications of cancer of the cervix necessitating surgery--bowel obstruction, dead loop syndrome, stenosis or fistulae of the IT or UT--are infrequent. Indications, technique and complications are discussed. Persistent or recurrent cervical cancers in many cases are limited to the pelvis thus offering a chance of surgical cure. Indications, techniques and complications of these extensive operations are dealt with.
