[A new direct roentgen magnification technic and its possible applications in otorhinolaryngology]
Abstract:
The development of a new tube with a 1 mu focal spot size made it possible for the first time, to enlarge objects with a direct radiographic magnification technique in microscopic dimensions. Osseus structures that up to now could only be demonstrated by histological techniques, are visualised without any preparation and hence without destroying the object. A possible clinical application was investigated by means of a soft tissue phantom skull. Although clinical usefulness seems to be limited to special indications, this new technique shows some interesting and promising aspects for experimental research.
