[Long-term trans-tympanic aeration using Goode's tube]
Abstract:
This article is a survey of the authors' checkup of 61 years who had the ventilating Goode T-tube inserted between 1981 and 1984. Details are given of the specific ailments treated and the results achieved. special attention is being devoted to the durability of the device in the middle ear and to the possible complications involved. The last part of the article is a discussion of the main data derived from using this type of ventilating tube. When properly and timely inserted, it is an invaluable aid for the ear specialist.
