    Summary

    Researchers fabricated ridge microresonators using mercury cadmium telluride (HgCdTe) quantum wells for mid-infrared lasers. While lasing was achieved, defects from fabrication impacted performance, suggesting process optimization is needed for efficient HgCdTe lasers.
