This study investigated the causal link between plasma lipids and sepsis risk. Mendelian randomization analysis suggested elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) may increase sepsis risk, while triglycerides (TG) and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) might offer protection, though findings lacked statistical significance.
