Lacrimal Gland Abscess: A Case Report

This study reports a rare lacrimal gland abscess case. Diffusion-weighted imaging and ADC maps aided diagnosis when cultures yielded limited results, guiding treatment for this uncommon condition.

- Blood tests showed positive proteinase 3-anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody.

- Abscess drainage and biopsy were performed.
- Culture of the abscess yielded minimal bacterial growth (Cutibacterium acnes).
- Histopathology showed inflammation without vasculitis.

- Diffusion-weighted imaging and ADC maps are valuable diagnostic tools for lacrimal gland abscess, especially with inconclusive cultures.
- Prompt imaging and intervention can lead to successful management and symptom resolution.
