Ruptured tubo-ovarian abscess late in pregnancy. A case report

A pregnancy complicated in the late second trimester by a tubo-ovarian abscess, generalised peritonitis and a subdiaphragmatic abscess is reported. The fetus did not survive. The English-language literature is reviewed, as well as possible aetiological mechanisms and methods of management.
