[Risk factors of coronary disease among foreign workers in Switzerland]
Sozial- Und Praventivmedizin
|January 1, 1986
Abstract:
In a study covering the state of health and nutrition, 255 single Italian and Spanish seasonal workers were examined for the risk factors of coronary heart disease. The prevalences of hypertension (31.7%), hypertriglyceridaemia (38.8%) and adiposity (41.4%) were clearly above the frequencies of comparable Swiss groups. In the prevalences of hypercholesterolemia (13.8%) and smoking (51.7%), no major differences were apparent between the foreign workers and the Swiss population.
