Summary

Selenium supplementation effectively lowers thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroid peroxidase antibodies (TPOAb) in individuals with Hashimoto thyroiditis (HT). This trace element is safe and may aid in managing HT, particularly in those not on thyroid hormone replacement therapy.
