Background:

The integration of technology in healthcare, particularly nursing, is rapidly expanding.
The COVID-19 pandemic and national policies have accelerated the adoption of digital tools in nursing practice.

Purpose of the Study:

To explore and understand nurses' perceptions regarding digital nursing (DN).

Main Methods:

A survey was distributed to community and primary care nurses in Wales (n=249).
Semistructured interviews were conducted with a subset of nurses (n=25).
Qualitative data were analyzed using thematic analysis.

Main Results:

Nurses expressed diverse views on digital nursing, categorized into four themes: access, impact on care, technology, and the digital future.
Quantitative survey data confirmed the positive influence of digital nursing on work processes and patient outcomes.

Conclusions:

Nurses acknowledge the value and benefits of digital tools for patients, themselves, and multidisciplinary teams.
A consensus on the definition of digital nursing and enhanced awareness are crucial for its effective implementation.
