Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate how different adhesive resin application methods affect film thickness.
  • To determine the impact of these methods on the bond strength of a two-step UA in high C-factor cavities.
  • To assess the influence of aging on bond strength under various application conditions.

Main Methods:

  • Four application modalities of a two-step UA were tested on human molars.
  • Adhesive resin film thickness was measured using optical microscopy.
  • Micro-tensile bond strength (μTBS) was assessed immediately and after thermocycling.

  • Gentle air-blowing resulted in significantly higher immediate μTBS compared to strong air-blowing or no air-blowing.
