- Gently processed SPC offers more native protein than WPC but has higher MRP levels, leading to comparable tolerability but subclinical adverse gut effects in preterm pigs.
- Further heat treatment and storage of SPC significantly increase MRPs, promoting gut inflammation and mucosal damage.
