Background:
Surgeons use electrosurgery daily, though most of them are unfamiliar with its basic safety principles.
Method:
We have designed a hands-on simulation session to teach OBGYN trainees principles of electrosurgery with practical implications for safety in the operating room. 15 participants completed post-session surveys.
Experience:
Our experience of serially refining teaching materials and electrosurgery demonstrations resulted in a comprehensive guide to electrosurgery in OBGYN.
Conclusion:
This report will allow surgeon educators to implement simulation training in their institutions.
