    Area of Science:

    • Cardiology
    • Medical Imaging
    • Biomedical Engineering

    Background:

    • Echocardiography is crucial for diagnosing cardiopathies.
    • Accurate and reproducible measurements are essential for reliable diagnosis.
    • The original Bulgarian "Echocomputer" device requires validation against established methods.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To assess the discrepancy between echocardiographic indices from the "Echocomputer" and manual calculations.
    • To evaluate the reproducibility of measurements by independent researchers.
    • To determine the accuracy of the "Echocomputer" in cardiopathy assessment.

    Main Methods:

    • Analysis of M-echocardiographic records from 22 patients with various cardiopathies.
    • Comparison of Echocomputer-derived indices with values calculated using classical echocardiographic formulae.
    • Application of variation and correlation statistical analyses.

    Main Results:

    • No statistically significant differences were found between Echocomputer values and classical calculations.
    • A considerable correlation dependence was observed between the two calculation methods.
    • High reproducibility of measurements by the Echocomputer was implied.

    Conclusions:

    • The "Echocomputer" device provides accurate echocardiographic indices comparable to established methods.
    • The study supports the reliability of the "Echocomputer" for cardiopathy diagnosis.
    • The device demonstrates good accuracy and consistency in echocardiographic data acquisition.
