    Background:

    • Zinc is an essential trace metal crucial for numerous biological processes.
    • Altered zinc metabolism is frequently observed in patients with various liver diseases.
    • Fulminant hepatic failure (FHF) represents a critical stage of liver injury with high mortality.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate plasma zinc concentrations and urinary zinc excretion in patients with FHF.
    • To elucidate the role of zinc metabolism in the progression of hepatic encephalopathy.
