The Coronary Microvascular Disease Registry (CMDR) will track patients with coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) for 5 years. This study aims to improve diagnosis and treatment strategies for CMD, enhancing patient prognosis and quality of life.
Area of Science:
- Cardiology
- Vascular Biology
- Clinical Research
Background:
- Coronary microvascular dysfunction (CMD) affects many patients with cardiovascular risk factors, impacting quality of life and increasing adverse events.
- Current understanding of CMD's natural history is limited due to insufficient data.
- Novel invasive diagnostic techniques for CMD are emerging.
Purpose of the Study:
- To standardize comprehensive coronary functional testing for CMD.
- To understand the natural history and clinical outcomes of patients with CMD.
- To improve diagnostic and treatment strategies for CMD.
Main Methods:
- Prospective, multicenter registry (Coronary Microvascular Disease Registry - CMDR).
- Enrollment of consecutive subjects undergoing invasive hemodynamic assessment and acetylcholine provocation tests.
- Follow-up assessments at 30 days and annually for up to 5 years, monitoring angina grade, mortality, MIs, strokes, and other clinical outcomes.
Main Results:
- Data not yet available as the study is ongoing.
- The registry aims to collect comprehensive longitudinal data on CMD patients.
Conclusions:
- The CMDR registry will characterize the clinical and physiological profile of patients undergoing invasive coronary functional testing.
- Longitudinal data will elucidate the natural history and outcomes of CMD.
- Findings are expected to enhance diagnostic and treatment strategies, improving prognosis and quality of life for CMD patients.
