Abstract:
Systemic venous gas embolism other than that due to air is a great rarity. A case is reported and the criteria for the diagnosis are discussed. The clinical similarities between embolism of systemic venous air and that of systemic venous gas are emphasized. The two conditions can be differentiated by laboratory investigation only.
