Association between myofascial trigger point therapy and conditioned pain modulation

Myofascial trigger point therapy (MTrP) and conditioned pain modulation (CPM) share underlying analgesic mechanisms. A strong correlation was found between their pain-relieving effects in asymptomatic individuals, suggesting common pathways.
