Background:

Effective monitoring of childhood immunization programs is crucial for health systems.
Rwanda's e-Tracker electronic immunization registry faces challenges, including inaccurate coverage rates due to missing population denominators.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the e-Tracker's alignment with stakeholder needs.
To identify specific areas for enhancing the e-Tracker system's functionality and usability.

Main Methods:

In-depth interviews were conducted with immunization nurses, data managers, and supervisors across five Rwandan districts.
The Human, Organization, and Technology-Fit (HOT-Fit) framework guided the interview process and data analysis.

Main Results:

Immunization nurses reported using e-Tracker as a secondary data entry system alongside paper forms, causing dissatisfaction.
Users highlighted the need for improved functionalities, including digital appointment lists, defaulter tracking, enhanced search capabilities, automated reporting, and integration with birth notifications and national ID systems.

Conclusions:

Minimizing dual documentation is key to improving e-Tracker adoption and user satisfaction.
The study provides insights for developing further digital health solutions to strengthen Rwanda's immunization program information system.
