Methamphetamine Use Disorder and Inflammation: A Case-Control Study.

Methamphetamine use disorder (MUD) is linked to increased inflammation markers. Peripheral hemogram parameters, including leukocyte and platelet counts, and the systemic immune inflammation index (SII), are elevated in individuals with MUD.

- Calculated ratios included neutrophil/lymphocyte rate (NLR), monocyte/lymphocyte rate (MLR), platelet/lymphocyte rate (PLR), and basophil/lymphocyte rate (BLR).

- Elevated systemic immune inflammation index (SII) is strongly associated with methamphetamine use severity.
- These findings highlight the role of inflammation in MUD and suggest potential for inflammatory markers in clinical management.
