DO disease stages affect oxidative stress in stable COPD?

In stable Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients, oxidative stress levels do not differ significantly across disease stages. This finding suggests anti-inflammatory therapy may not be beneficial for stable COPD, except during exacerbations.

Conclusions:
- No significant differences in oxidative stress parameters were found among stable COPD patients based on GOLD classification.
- These findings suggest that routine anti-inflammatory therapy may not be indicated for stable COPD, reserving it for acute exacerbations.
