Fatty acid nomenclature. A short review
Abstract:
The nomenclature of the chemical structure of fatty acids can be confusing and should be standardized. Criteria for a suitable terminology are proposed, and the recommendation is made that use of the 'n' and 'omega' systems comes closest to meeting these criteria.
