Background:

Work-life integration is critical for all genders in nursing, not just women.
Nurse educators report an undervalued work environment with insufficient support and growth opportunities.
Heavy workloads and limited time impact nurse educators' professional and personal lives.

Purpose of the Study:

To synthesize existing research on work-life integration among nurse educators.
To identify key challenges and contributing factors to work-life integration in nursing academia.

Main Methods:

A qualitative meta-synthesis approach was employed.
Searches were conducted across ScienceDirect, EBSCO Host, Sage, and Sabinet databases.
Seven relevant articles published between 2013 and 2023 were analyzed.

Main Results:

Identified themes centered on the dual aspects of nurse educators' work and personal life integration.
Nurse educators frequently perceive difficulties in work-life integration as personal failings.
Challenges include balancing demanding workloads with personal responsibilities.

Conclusions:

Achieving work-life integration requires both individual strategies and systemic support.
Academic institutions should enhance workplace policies, including paid maternity leave and childcare support.
Managerial warmth and encouragement are vital for supporting nurse educators facing personal challenges.
