Ileal Paneth cell phenotype (PCP) is a novel biomarker for ulcerative colitis (UC) and Crohn's disease (CD). Abnormal ileal PCP predicts pouch complications in UC patients, highlighting its clinical relevance in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).
