Individuals with type 1 diabetes, hypothyroidism, celiac disease, and systemic lupus erythematosus face a higher risk of developing chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). This study found no causal link between COPD and multiple sclerosis or other autoimmune conditions examined.
