Consequences of Pausing Heated Humidification During Invasive Ventilation

When heated humidifiers are turned off during mechanical ventilation, gas humidity significantly decreases but remains higher than dry medical gases. Continuous humidification is recommended, especially during nebulization, as the clinical impact of humidity fluctuations is unknown.
