[Experiences with the transplantation of tissue-cultured corneas]

Between October 1982 and May 1984, 21 cultivated donor corneas were successfully grafted in 20 patients at Innsbruck Eye Clinic. The average duration of cultivation was 10.9 days; the average number of endothelial cells prior to cultivation was 3,050 per mm2, and after cultivation 2,850 per mm2.
