Summary

Scrotal elephantiasis, a rare condition causing severe scrotal swelling, significantly impacts daily life. Surgical intervention for scrotal elephantiasis can greatly improve a patient's quality of life.

Background:

Scrotal elephantiasis is a rare but debilitating condition characterized by extreme scrotal swelling.
It is often caused by chronic obstructive lymphedema, significantly impairing patient function and well-being.

Observation:

A case study of a 60-year-old male patient with several years of severe, persistent scrotal enlargement is presented.
The condition led to significant functional limitations and adverse psychosocial effects.

Findings:

The patient was diagnosed with scrotal elephantiasis following a clinical evaluation.
Surgical scrotal volume reduction was performed as a comprehensive treatment strategy.

Implications:

Scrotal volume reduction surgery offers a significant improvement in the quality of life for patients suffering from scrotal elephantiasis.
This case highlights the importance of surgical intervention in managing this rare condition.
